Today is all about how to wear cowboy boots. Cowboy boots are definitely having a moment and I couldn’t be more excited about it. When I think about cowboy boots I don’t really consider them something that’s on “trend” though. I grew up in Charlotte and we would wear cowboy boots with our uniform in high school, to every country concert and literally everywhere else. They were more of a staple than something that happened to be in. I also don’t think this “trend” was happening in high schools across the US. I’m pretty sure this was a southern thing. My first pair of cowboy boots were my grandmas vintage pair from when she lived in Mississippi. I still have them to this day and love them. They are perfectly broken in and have so many memories.
When it comes to how to wear cowboy boots, I would think of them more as a staple then as a trend piece. Cowboy boots can for the most part replace a regular ankle boot. They can be worn with sundresses, denim cut offs/shorts and jeans. If you’re looking at the higher more standard cowboy boots, I feel like those look best with simple denim shorts or a sundress. Don’t overthink it either! Just because you’re wearing cowboy boots doesn’t mean you have to go with a whole country vibe. Actually please don’t. You can mix cowboy boots with trendy pieces and basically wear them how you normally would. Check out a few of my favorite cowboy boots below.
