How to style sneakers is a topic I didn’t really see myself writing about. I’m usually a heels girl but a little over a month ago I fractured my ankle and here we are with sneakers being the only option. This gave me a really great opportunity to go out of my style comfort zone and figure out how to style sneakers in a way that was still in keeping with my personal style. I even ordered a couple new pairs of sneakers so it’s safe to say they grew on me.
There are 3 things to consider when figuring out how to style sneakers.
1. The type of sneaker – Andrew Stevens was nice enough to send me these sneakers before I even realized how obsessed with them I was so I can’t take credit on the “type of sneaker” in this instance. But picking the type of sneaker really helps lay the foundation for your overall look. I love that with these I can keep them sporty or play up a girly/trendy side with the straw platform. I definitely played up the girlier side with the one shoulder ruffled bodysuit and it totally works!
2. The color – The straw platform is probably my favorite thing about this pair of sneakers but it’s that with the combination of the white that I love. It was really easy for me to style these because I have always loved a white and denim look so I wanted to play that up with the white bodysuit and the sunglasses.
3. How to accessorize and make them your own – I had so much fun styling these sneakers because the accessories really help pull together the look. I added my staple Gucci belt to help make it my own too. Let’s talk about these sunglasses though! This retro look is super popular right now and I love the addition of another white accessory with the rest of this look.
So that’s how to style sneakers! I hope it was helpful. I should be getting in my new sneaker shipments in so stay tuned for more sneaker styling.
